Operations Engineer

Full-time Europe, Remote

About the role

We are looking for a skilled engineer with a solid understanding of SRE methodologies and DevOps practices to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will support our production services by troubleshooting cloud integration issues, assisting developers and customer success teams in maintaining reliable service and participating in on-call rotations for staging and production deployments. You will collaborate closely with our Cloud and Core engineering teams to develop robust and scalable systems, emphasizing stability and safe upgrades.

We value self-motivated individuals who can work independently and collaboratively with our globally distributed team and have strong communication skills in both English and code.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support and maintenance for Synadia’s staging and production environments.
  • Contribute to automation projects aimed at enhancing operational workflows and efficiency.
  • Utilize monitoring and observability tools to improve the health, performance, and reliability of production systems.
  • Participate in incident management, including conducting post-incident retrospectives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to facilitate the seamless introduction of new services into production.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Strong scripting and automation abilities, with expertise in languages such as Python, Bash, and Go.
  • Skilled in incident management, encompassing incident response, resolution, and post-mortem analysis.
  • Proficient in monitoring, alerting, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, the ELK stack, and Datadog.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a remote, cross-functional team environment.

Location 

Remote position available in Europe. Synadia is a fully remote company with no physical office and no plans for a return-to-office mandate. However, occasional in-person meetings may be held a few times per year.
