Connect Your Self-Hosted NATS.io Cluster to Synadia Cloud

We are excited to announce a new Synadia Cloud feature, Bring Your Own NATS (BYON). This allows users to connect their own private NATS systems into Synadia Cloud, leveraging our suite of management, monitoring, and alerting capabilities.

While Synadia Cloud offers a NATS system with a global presence across the three major cloud providers, there are various reasons to run your own NATS systems:

  • Strict latency or private networking requirements
  • The need to run in a specific cloud or edge region
  • Utilizing existing hardware
  • Organizational or compliance requirements

BYON enables these use cases to benefit from Synadia Cloud while keeping your NATS system and data within your environment.

What's included?

By connecting your system into Synadia Cloud you get powerful features including:

  • Central management of your NATS cluster(s)
  • Viewing server stats, connections, message rates, and more
  • Team management for organizational access control
  • Account and user management with a full audit trail
  • JetStream asset management and live stream data viewing
  • Easy sharing of streams and services across accounts
  • A full GUI and HTTP API for resource control

Note: Currently, only NATS systems using the decentralized authentication model can be imported. If you are not using this model, but want to leverage BYON please reach out to us!

How does it work?

The basic steps include:

  1. Sign up or log into Synadia Cloud
  2. Subscribe to the remote system add-on (BYON)
  3. Create or import a NATS system
  4. Install and run the Private Link agent
  5. Elevate your NATS experience

Here is a short video demoing the process. For more information, refer to the BYON documentation.

Ready to get started?

Sign up here. If you prefer not to import your cluster immediately, you can set up a lab environment as shown in the video.

The add-on is available for all plans and costs $49.00/month for up to a 9-node cluster. If you have multiple systems, the add-on can be purchased multiple times. If you have larger scale needs, please reach out to discuss the use case!

Our goal is to make the benefits of Synadia Cloud accessible to existing private systems. We would love to hear about your experience and any feedback on the offering!
